Product Description
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil is specially formulated for the lubrication needs of European gasoline and diesel cars and light trucks. Formulated with advanced AMSOIL synthetic base stocks, premium additives and a broad 5W-40 viscosity rating, AMSOIL 5W-40 allows motorists to take advantage of the maximum extended drain intervals recommended by European automakers while providing second-to-none protection and performance in the most demanding operating conditions.

Maximum Engine Protection
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil surpasses the North American SAE and European ACEA oil specifications for high temperature/high shear (HTHS) viscosity. It does not shear back to a lower viscosity oil in the high temperature/high shear conditions of today’s smaller, high RPM automobile engines. AMSOIL 5W-40 contains high quality anti-wear additives for superior engine protection. It resists the damaging effects of heat, blowby chemicals and oxidation for extended drain intervals, providing cool, clean and
efficient engine performance.

Reduced Oil Consumption
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil does not vaporize (burn off) in the high temperatures that vaporize conventional motor oils. It provides consistent high temperature protection, improved fuel economy and reduced oil consumption and emissions.

Provides Low Temperature Protection
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil remains fluid at temperatures as frigid as -59°F (-51°C), permitting easy engine cranking
for fast starts and immediate start-up protection, greatly reducing engine wear and prolonging engine life.

Prevents Rust and Corrosion
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil contains special rust and corrosion inhibitors to protect iron parts, as well as copper, lead and aluminum bearing materials.

APPLICATION
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil is recommended for applications specifying the following:

  • API SL, CI-4, CF
  • ACEA A3/B3
  • BMW LL-01/98
  • Daimler Chrysler 229.3, 229.1
  • Opel Long Life Service Fill GM-LL-A-025
  • Opel Diesel Service ill GM-LL-B-025
  • Porsche
  • Volvo
  • Saab
  • Volkswagen 501.01, 502.00, 505.00

AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Motor Oil surpasses the most demanding European oil specifications. It is recommended for European gasoline and diesel vehicles, including but not limited to, Saab, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Land Rover, Opel, Mini Cooper, BMW, Peugeot and Porsche.

Mixing AMSOIL
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 European Engine Oil is compatible with conventional petroleum oils; however, AMSOIL mixed with conventional oils is not recommended for extended drain intervals. Engine oil additives or after-market products are not recommended for use with AMSOIL 5W-40.

Caution:
Continuous contact with used oil has caused skin cancer in lab testing. Avoid prolonged skin contact. Avoid eye contact. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Flush eyes with water for 15 minutes in case of contact. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Contact a physician immediately. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Don't pollute. Return used oil to collection centers.

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are fully compatible with conventional motor oil. For best results, however, use AMSOIL Engine Flush, then install AMSOIL synthetic motor oil.

For maximum engine protection, use an AMSOIL Oil Filter and an AMSOIL Air Filter.

Note: Most quick lube service centers will install these products upon request or install them yourself.
